2019 Student Success Conference
Hosted on February 6, the Student Success Conference focused on three areas aimed at improving student success: financial aid; teaching and learning; and student advising and support. The topics highlighted innovative work happening at our institutions in a variety of areas, including summer financial aid, food insecurity, resources for veterans, academic advising and coaching, large lecture classroom models, and using data to drive student success. Pilot Project Site Visits
In June, July, and August, UNC System Office representatives met with SSIL institutions to discuss their shared perspectives on project timelines, reporting schedules, and any challenges that require System Office assistance. Attached are an example meeting agenda and PowerPoint presentation.
2019 SSIL Cohort Convening
On August 2, the UNC System Office hosted a Student Success Innovation Lab Convening for implementation and assessment teams from East Carolina University, North Carolina A&T State University, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, and UNC Asheville. The project teams presented their projects in a “pitch session” format and received feedback from other team members and System Office staff. The day also included a Solutions Lab that allowed teams to address obstacles threatening key objectives to their projects. Included are the attendee list and each team’s pitch slides.
